Robert Sternberg proposes that love has three components:
1. Intimacy (Warmth, trust)
2. Passion (Physical attraction)
3. Commitment (Decision to stay)
Different combinations create different types of love:
- Intimacy + Passion = Romantic Love
- Intimacy + Commitment = Companionate Love
- All three = Consummate Love (The ideal)
